Well, it sure has been a while since I have written a blog, or anything other than a PowerPoint presentation really! Well, it's time for me to get back to writing and using my right brain. Life takes us on interesting adventures - every day bringing us closer to our purpose and destiny, even when some days it may feel like its pulling us away from it. I truly believe that even when we feel far away from where we dream to be, we are right on the stepping stone we need to be to get us to our dreams. The stuff we dislike shows us, often times in very strong ways, what we really do like and vice-versa. Every day in every way you are getting closer to becoming what you were meant to be and learning who you truly are.
So, what happens when you are at a crossroad in your life? That point in your life where you say "There's more that I am meant to do and where I am at is not aligned with who I am meant to be"
Maybe something happened at work where you were asked to do something that you completely disagreed with, or that, worse, went against everything you believed in, but, by obligation or fear, as you maybe are the main provider for your family, you had to follow through on the request. Or maybe you just woke up one morning and said "Yep, its' time and I'm not in alignment with where I need to be, time for change". Whatever your moment was to "wake you up", you know its time, but how? What? Where? there are so many questions that come up, and so much fear and resistance that bubbles up as well. Many end up with some justification to stay where they are at due to a need to feel comfortable. Well, I'm here to tell you that life does not happen in your comfort zone. I often like to call the "comfort zone" the "staying safe, but miserable zone". Change is scary. It requires courage, strength, and bravery to step into the unknown. Sure, you can stay safe in your comfort zone, but you can also realize your dreams and desires by stepping out in faith and courage to the unknown. You never know unless you try.
Step 1. Write down your goal and make a vision board. Taking this step will help you define where you want to go and what you want to achieve.
Step 2. Take Action. Remember that you do not need to do everything at once. Take it 1 step at a time. Taking the first step can be the hardest, but it is the most important step as it creates the momentum. It's as if God is waiting for you to just do something so it can respond back to you. I believe this step is the most important and shows God that you are ready and that you are serious. Trust in faith that you are supported every step along the way.
Step 3. Pray and Trust. There is power in prayer. Take the time to pray then trust the guidance you get and follow it....even when it doesn't fully make sense. I have gotten some interesting guidance throughout my life, often times making ZERO logical sense to me at all, but when I follow it in faith, it is fruitful and leads me to the next step.
Step 4. Create a support system that holds you accountable. This is often time your family and closest friends. Tell them your dreams and desires and goals and plans. Find 2 people that you count on with your life and ask them to hold you accountable to help you achieve your goal
Step 5. Allow. This has been by far the most challenging step for me. I seem to push things away vs allowing them to happen. I am learning and growing in this step and learning to allow wonderful things to come into my life. Feel and see your dreams and goals come to fruition, act as if, and ALLOW.
Friends, my prayer for you is that you are living your dream and a life you love. Many blessings to you on your journey.
